The Story
mick.jpgMick Doyle has been a professional fighter since the age of 15. While training in Thailand in 1996, Mick noticed that many of the Thai fighters used an oil to help them prepare for, and then heal from, the grueling workouts. Mick began using the oil himself and was amazed at the results. Bruises disappeared in a day or so, and his muscles did not ache as badly. After returning to the United States he tried to order more of the product, but had difficulty getting it shipped in a timely manner. Another problem was that the consistency of the product seemed to change from bottle to bottle. Frustrated, Mick began working on a recipe to make this liniment better and more accessible. With his own knowledge of Chinese medicine, and with the help of pharmacists, Mick developed “Emerald Oil”. Emerald Oil has been more than 4 years in the making, and is the most ingenious and effective muscle liniment ever made. The final product has been tested in some of the top fighting gyms in the United States over the past two years. Other athletes–from soccer players to tri-athletes–swear by it. People who suffer the daily pain and nuisance of arthritis love the long lasting effects. The development of Emerald Oil would not be rushed, and it would not become commercially available until it was right. Mick’s philosophy was simple: “if this stuff works for the hardest working athletes around, it will work for anybody”.

About the ingredients

Arnica

Arnica works by stimulating the activity of white blood cells which process congested blood, and by dispersing trapped fluids from joints, muscles, and bumped and bruised tissue. Arnica also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial qualities–these help reduce pain and swelling, as well as improve wound healing.

Salicylates (Methyl Salicylates)

The natural plant substances found in aspirin, Salicylates are effective pain relievers that also reduce inflammation when absorbed by the skin. These compounds appear to work by inhibiting prostaglandins, the substances that contribute to pain and inflammation. This formula is not recommended for use by those who are allergic to aspirin.

Menthol

Menthol, known for its cooling and antibacterial properties, is used in topical preparations to assist permeation through the surface of the skin. Menthol replaces the pain message with a cooling sensation to provide temporary relief from localized pain. Menthol rapidly cools tendons and muscles, and causes dilation in the blood vessels that carry blood to the joints, increasing blood flow and reducing swelling.

Camphor

Camphor, an aromatic herb that stimulates the circulatory and nervous systems, combats inflammation and eases spasms and pain.

Sandalwood

Well known in Ayurvedic treatment, Sandalwood relieves muscle spasms and is helpful in treating sciatica because of its tissue normalizing properties.

Cetyl Myristoleate

Cetyl Myristoleate is an all-natural medium chain fatty acid which clinical experience suggests acts as an anti-inflammatory, as well as a surfactant and lubricant for damaged joints.

Lavender essential oil

Lavender, an exceptionally healing and soothing essential oil, functions as an adapogen, and therefore assists the body when adapting to tissue stress or injury.
